Introduction to Motivational Interviewing in Behavioral Health and Medical Settings
This training will be a 2 day Motivational Interviewing Workshop focused on introducing behavioral health and medical professionals to the theory and practice of Motivational Interviewing. It will be a highly interactive training where participants will experience a variety of teaching methods that include role play, experiential exercises, video review, demonstration and lectures/discussion. The goal is a basic understanding of MI with the opportunity to learn MI techniques and how they can be applied to facilitate behavior change in behavioral health and medical settings so that participants will be able to continue learning on their own from their clients and patients. The training will be oriented towards the needs of the participants and their particular settings. It is an introductory training that is appropriate for beginning and advanced practitioners from behavioral health and medical disciplines who are interested in learning MI.
The training will be on September 9th and 23rd 2017 at 238 Northampton Street, Easthampton.
